Overview of Photo Me
If you are into photography and searching for a suitable option to showcase your photos, then the Photo Me WordPress theme is the solution you need. The theme is equipped with all state-of-the-art features in WordPress. It has a clean, modern, responsive design which works perfectly even on phones and tablets.
What Makes Photo Me Outstanding?
Apart from being packed with features and functionality, the theme stands out due to its responsive design. In simple words, no matter what device is being used to access the website, its performance remains excellent. Such devices include various versions of iPhones, iPads, as well as desktop computers. On the other hand, in the case of a fixed layout, the responsiveness of the site can be switched off by just clicking a mouse button.
Content Management and Drag & Drop
You can easily customize your website using the features of the WordPress Customizer. All this will be done without pressing the button for modification and reloading the website afterwards. It is just about dragging the necessary parts of the content around in all directions. Portfolios, galleries, blogs, or testimonials will be sorted out and organized with the help of the Drag & Drop Content Builder.
One-Click Demo Import
With the needs and experience of the customers taken into account during the creation of Photo Me, setting up the website becomes easy with the help of one-click demo import. By any chance I have not mentioned that during management of the demo, the theme comes with over fifty pre-designed photo gallery and photo portfolio templates, and twelve templates for the blog. This gives an option to set up your website right out of the box with pre-made templates for a particular profession like photographer and others.
All Types of Content Supported
Apart from images, Photo Me also supports various other types of content, such as galleries, videos, and even audio players from SoundCloud. The theme offers a wide range of options and possibilities. For example, one can use a split-screen page layout and set images as the background of the website. Moreover, the theme is capable of displaying video content, which is hosted both on Vimeo and YouTube, as well as self-hosted videos.
Online Shop
Photographers who want to create online stores to show their work and sell their products online will find Photo Me very useful, since it offers a portfolio that supports WooCommerce, and so photographers’ portfolios will turn into online stores. Thus, it will be much easier to sell photos or any other type of art.
Online Social Networks
It is much easier to connect with readers of one’s blog via online social networking sites. Photo Me comes with social profiles and integration of the radEK social network, Instagram, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+. One can easily embed the feed from Instagram and Flickr into the website.
The Beauty of Typography
One can adjust the font size, type, and even color of the content without knowing anything about working with web languages because of using Google Web Fonts and custom typography tools. Besides easy integration of these components into one’s website, it is also provided that there will be some additional tools such as a shortcode generator and flexible styled typography.
Advanced features of Photo Me
There are a lot of cool features in the Photo Me theme. Some of them are: instant AJAX search of pages, retina graphics, sticky menu, and one-page navigation. Other advanced features include great possibilities for managing photo galleries, multiple image uploading, and lots of settings, including using parallax effects and header background images.
Multilingual support
In case you want to have a multilingual or multi-currency site and do not live or work in an English-speaking environment, Photo Me offers translation tools for you or the WPML plugin so that you could implement several languages in your site. This option plays a significant role for those photographers who work with an international audience.
Photo Me’s conclusion
Photo Me WordPress theme is very functional and created specially for photographers and creative experts. Being responsive, it gives you many opportunities for customizing your site and supports many types of content, thus offering everything you need for making an excellent portfolio site. Also, features of WooCommerce support, social networks, and multilingual sites make this theme even more attractive.
If you want to create a portfolio, this theme combines a sleek design with a high level of customizability. The support is quick and efficient, which is priceless for a WordPress beginner like me.
A+ Theme, A+ Support. I have been using this theme for over 4 years. An amazing theme and great support.
Great theme, easy setup with lots of features. Had an issue with loading on Safari (my issue with test URLs) and support was great and suggested fix worked straight away.
Absolutely beautiful design aspects to this theme. Support is also always professional and helpful.
The theme is very beautiful and looks really nice. What I do not like is that WPML plugin doesn’t work nicely with this theme. You need to create the whole page content structure again with classic editor for your translated page. The other thing is the performance of the site with this theme. It has made my site very slow. My AIOSEO is complaining that there are many JavaScript and CSS files which don’t seem to be minified. The documentation is saying there should be options in the theme settings to minify those, but in the current theme version, those options do not exist. I contacted the support and was suggested to ignore those and use the 2 plugins mentioned in the documentation. I tried those plugins earlier already and those caused other problems in the theme like the gallery images were on top of each other. Theme support said I should not activate those in order for galleries to work well.
The theme is easy to use, easy to understand, and has a very beautiful layout. Customer support is excellent and always helpful. The theme layout is great, well-suited for anyone who wants to show portfolios. It has many options for customization. The support is very responsive and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!
While customizing the template to my needs I was also facing some issues. The customer support was a real treat. They helped me perfectly and patiently with my many tickets. The code makes the website incredibly slow to load. According to Google PageSpeed, a page (without image) takes about 6.3 seconds to load properly, the main issue is the JS / CSS codes. When I wrote a ticket to ask how it could be improved they just told me to use cache plugins. But then the gallery can’t be seen anymore. This is a beautiful theme that caters to every aspect of my photography website. The great customer support just brings it to the next level. The support has been prompt with response and very helpful in resolving the issues I have. Highly recommend this theme and Themegoods.
PhotoMe is a fantastic theme for photographers who want to present their products. I value galleries and portfolios in particular. Indispensable for me, who is not computer literate, is the customer support provided by Themeforest. Customer support is there and answered my questions quickly. Efficient and fast like the theme.
In reiterating the practicality and beauty of this template, I would like to thank Peter for his exquisite assistance and for promptly resolving some problems not due to the template but to my negligence in updating it. The theme is well-designed, flexible, and easy to use once you get the hang of the basics. Great functionality and features for both a one-person or bigger photography studio. Very happy with the product and the support.
Choosing only one main reason to rate this theme 5 stars does not do justice to the excellent job the developer has done: ‘Photo Me’ is incredibly well coded, has an awesome design that can be adjusted to a multitude of projects, is easy to customize and has lots of beautiful features. Add to all this that the theme is updated regularly and very well documented, and you’ll find out why, out of all the themes I have used in 9+ years on Theme Forest, this is the one I would definitely recommend to all photographers, creative people and artists in general. I know a bit of coding myself and it’s been really easy to make custom changes, but even if you know nothing about code ‘Photo Me’ is the best choice. I would also like to praise the top quality Customer Support, as whenever I’ve asked for information or help I’ve always received kind, fast and useful replies. Keep up the great work!!!
The gallery pages load SO slowly, so as an artist or photographer who relies on a gallery page, I would highly recommend not going with this theme unless there’s a huge update. Even with smaller compressed images, it takes an average of 30 seconds for my gallery page to load. I tried installing a lazy loader plugin but it didn’t work, everything must load before anything will show on the page. If you look into the author’s comments, he gets this feedback and claims it’s on the user side instead of attempting to fix it on his end. Very frustrating and a waste of money. On the plus side, it’s a beautiful template.
Unfortunately I have to give only one star. I have encountered several problems, starting with the importation of the sample data, up to some very difficult changes. I also have to spend another $ 100 for another simple change.
Good theme, but customer support has not answered a question from over a week ago. The latest theme update supposedly fixed the Instagram connection, but it doesn’t for me.
I prefer WordPress themes from Themegoods. The design quality is high, with very few bugs and perfect customer support, which helped me solve all my issues. I recommend ThemeGoods themes.
Excellent support. Responsive and quick to apply a solution. Very friendly too.
Kor was very helpful with my questions and customisation. Thanks and good luck.
Getting a new theme can be daunting because you want it to look great and worry about what happens if things go wrong. After looking around for a long time, I settled on PhotoMe and started to configure it. I got 90% of the way and needed help with a couple of areas, so I contacted support. I had brilliant and quick help, and now I’m really pleased with how it looks. Getting technical help quickly should not be underestimated, especially if you’re not overly technical. Thanks to all involved!
