I loved the design of all the Javo themes, but I wanted some customisation to my directory site so I went for the full custom service. These guys have been absolutely AMAZING. They are dedicated to finding you the best solution to get your website how you want it, and are so good to work with. I understand the basics of WordPress and Elementor but there were just some things I couldn’t work out. They fixed everything for me and explained how to edit and change things very easily. There’s also now really in-depth video tutorials on their YouTube channel which I need to watch again to keep learning! We have been working together for some months and these guys will now be my maintenance and development team every time so we can make my website a success and keep it up to date with future improvements. I found this theme had quite a learning curve as there is a lot involved with setting it up, but once I worked out the kinks it is a beautiful theme with so many options and customizations! I’ve been using it for my website for almost two years and am very, very pleased with it. Be prepared to spend a fair amount of time setting everything up and keeping it functional. But once it’s set it’s pretty much good to go!
After I had some severe problems installing the demo, I contacted customer support. After fixing some server issues, they installed the theme for me and it worked fine. Thanks for the support!
This is my first time using Elementor. The customer service is good but slow. Forget getting an answer in 24/36 hours. It will take longer. Weekends don’t count. You need to be patient. The documentation is not great. Some things are not updated and you really need to dig into it to understand. The Javo theme is rather flexible but when you set up the demo theme be mindful that it will be incomplete. It doesn’t come with all the pics. For some, it might not be a problem but if you are expecting a full demo version once installed, forget it. It takes a while to figure it out. I had to hire external help 4 times to get some things fixed and many of them said that this is a difficult theme. I think if they had good and simple documentation it could help many of us that are starting out but for now, it’s not the case.
I use extensively Javo Directory for one of my websites since 2014. They keep improving and adding new features year after year. I like it because it’s now fully integrated with Elementor and Buddypress. You can customize anything without coding. And if you own Elementor Pro, with the theme builder feature, the possibilities are endless! I have just bought a second license for another project. I tried many other listing plugins/themes and this one is the best.

I struggled a lot with the theme. It has huge potential and is very flexible, however the documentation can be greatly improved and result in far less support tickets in my opinion. As with most themes there is a learning curve to get started and it requires time. My recommendation to the team is to work hard on creating tutorial videos, maybe a basic walkthrough with focus on setting up submit listing page and detail listing page. The support is very responsive, Chris has been patient and provided support. I mainly changed my rating due to Chris assisting me. Compared to other themes, this allows you to create custom layouts with the use of Elementor. The layouts are what makes your theme look better and user-friendly. Other themes are quite limited compared to this. The submit listing page looks really nice and professional. Although you cannot create different pricing structures, it does look very nice and enables users to submit their listing with ease. Thank you very much to the JavoThemes team. They find an immediate solution and are very helpful. This theme has my favorite features and has an excellent support team.
Very customizable theme, once you get the hang of it you can design almost anything. It also offers extra plugins that boost the general feeling like embedding virtual tour iframes. Of course the base theme offers what you want which is design flexibility via the free version of Elementor and custom reusable templates. Support is also active and friendly. I first tried to build a listings directory a few years ago with Listopia, and soon gave up! I revisited building a directory this year and came across Javo Directory. I am so happy because something so complex has been made rather straightforward, especially once you get your head around Elementor too. The customization element is incredible, and all the features you are able to achieve through (mostly the Lava) plugins are excellent! I feel like the area the theme could improve on is that of documentation and support. Sometimes, the documentation glances over the how-tos when it could go into greater detail, but even since I started using the theme the team have improved the documentation available and are updating it all the time. I do think that all users would benefit from a forum for the theme. Thanks for making such a great directory theme – I will be building more after this first go!
If you are looking for a great directory/listing website, this is the theme you should go with. It has many functions, looks great, and offers many options. The support is very fast and helpful. Really one of the best directory themes.
I am very disappointed with this theme. As a user without extensive coding knowledge but some experience managing a few WordPress sites, I’ve found this theme difficult to work with. I received replies that were badly worded and difficult to follow, and recent theme updates caused major issues that could not be addressed. After updating to v3, all my item listings disappeared despite following their migration instructions, and I cannot even send a ticket because my support service has expired.
The design quality is lacking, with features like free listings taking forever to get integrated. Customizability is also poor, with simple fields being complicated to customize. Additionally, the feature availability is disappointing, as additional subscription is required to use the full payment function. These issues have adversely affected the success of my directory site, and I regret purchasing this theme. I will likely replace my directory theme.
