Thoughts on “WPLMS Theme Review”

  1. The theme has a huge learning curve and you have to do a lot on your own. Many demos were removed after I purchased and so I did not get the look and feel that I wanted originally. There are many videos you have to watch and spend months before you can actually start using it. It’s not at all intuitive and feels like a mishmash and Frankenstein of plugins. The documentation is unclear, especially after you finish installing the demo content. Configuring this LMS is complicated because each option is located in a completely different place, and course importation is far from intuitive as well. You have to import by “modules” rather than by IDs, and it doesn’t even import course attachments. The web layout and design are poor, but you can salvage it with Elementor. I do not recommend this theme at all. It’s better to look for other options.

  2. The Trott Bailey University has been using WPLMS learning Management System for 4 years now. WPLMS has enabled us to serve millions of students globally over the years. One of our favorite features is the VibeBP App single page that runs everything related to our university courses. It has enabled us to create a powerful dashboard that shows students their courses, lessons, quizzes, assignments, friends online & more. The WPLMS theme has enabled the Trott Bailey University to provide an award-winning student support experience where instructors can support students while they support each other using forums and groups. This creates a wonderful environment where students can interact with each other by commenting on each lesson, and ask the instructor questions. What the Trott Bailey University was most amazed by though is the customer support from Alex and the rest of the WPLMS team. Their response time to tickets is just over a day except weekends. On the downside, while the WPLMS theme is more than enough for online courses our global vision required a new theme to be developed with a more powerful gamification and intense user interaction for our university. Thankfully the WPLMS and VibeBP plugin we were able to keep our Learning Management System running while all our other university features were run by our new theme: points, credits, quests, awards. Kudos to WPLMS for helping with conflicts with our new theme. We’ve been able to successfully run the WPLMS for the past year alongside our new gamification centered network theme with very little conflicts. We can’t recommend WPLMS enough! Thanks Alex and your team of developers. Whether you are delivering a small online course like how we started with Step by Step Solar or you are running a corporation with millions of students like we are doing now at the Trott Bailey University WPLMS is the theme to purchase.

Features are so good. I started using it since 2018, and it was so much buggy. But in 2022, it’s much stable now. One problem is still left, and that is speed. Not so bad, but I think It must load and browse fast. Maybe it’s an LMS, that’s why. Anyway, I will work on cache plugins and optimization.

  3. I do not recommend the WPLMS theme as customer support is very poor, sometimes you need to wait for 8 days to get an answer. Customising WPLMS is extremely difficult, particularly when there are many bugs. Documentation on how to set things up is not clear and poorly instructed. We have struggled with migrating to the new WPLMS. Customer support is slow. It has taken more than two weeks to do the migration and it is still not done, and we are working with a live site. Settings are set correctly, but some things don’t work as they should. Finding solutions anywhere is difficult, so we have to wait for support to reply, which takes days. The old version was easier to set the way you want it. The app has made it very complicated with too many different places to customise settings and no clear guidance. There is a course enrollment button on the course page that is buggy and has many issues, which we are still unable to resolve because it needs a lot of code work. We contacted support and even offered to pay to fix the existing bugs, but received no response. Now we are stuck and looking for options to switch to a better solution. The support is horrible, which at the end makes the whole LMS horrible because it is not functioning. I have an open ticket for like 45 days and they haven’t responded for more than 3 weeks now! Very bad experience, wouldn’t recommend!

  4. I hope they improve the support through the channels they have available.

I had emailed them asking if there was an HTML only version; they replied saying yes, but when I purchased the template, it was WordPress only. When I asked for a refund, they said no.

The customer support has been slow. They tried to help and actually ended up helping what we needed, but the time to reach the solution was weeks. I think this can improve greatly.

I wasn’t expecting so many features. It’s really a beautiful template with great potential.

Basically, the product is ok. But there are a lot of bugs and problems. I have been spending weeks just waiting for answers. Some things are indeed solved but were not there before some update. I have regretted buying the product, but I have invested so much time in testing and fixing that the turnaround point for me has passed, and I will have to go on fighting.
