The theme doesn’t work with Woocommerce any more. It is not possible to add an item to the cart any more. The last update is one year old. There is no communication when/if the problem is fixed. The purchase code needed to install it on a WordPress site doesn’t work and there is no support. I needed to have the purchase code deregistered due to a hosting plan change. Received no reply to my queries. This guy breaks the site too often even when there hasn’t been an official update push. He has some good elements in his engine, but might not be worth the hassle if you are designing and coding your own site off of it.
I can’t no longer use Werkstatt theme. I can’t use WPBakery Page Builder in backend. Are you planning to update Werkstatt?
The theme author is not very upfront about the request that I made. I sent a request on 21 April 2022, and followed up with the creator on 29 April 2022. However, there was no reply after that. Hence, I created a new ticket on 18 May. The creator replied with:
“Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out.
Regarding the issue you are having, I have escalated your ticket to the developer and he will get back with a solution. Kindly note that I can not give you an ETA as to when this will be but it should be soon.
If you have any other questions do not hesitate to reach out again.”
However, I did not hear anything for one month and enquire on 16 June 2022 for an update but I was ghosted after that. It was a shame as their support in the earlier years were prompt and efficient.
Really disappointed with this theme. I’ve used WordPress for years and never run into problems like I have with Werkstatt. The demo themes don’t even import. Yes, PHP configs are fine and nothing in the docs covers it. Feel as though I’ve wasted so much time with this theme. Tried getting a refund but not heard anything back. Will avoid FuelThemes from now. If you’re on the fence about buying this, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
I only just installed the theme and I’m really happy with the general aesthetic. I had a question about one of the features and received a reply with an easy solution in no time.

This is the second theme I buy from fuelthemes and my experience has been exactly the same; customer support is so bad you’re better just trying to figure things out for yourself. I give them 3 stars because I do like their design and if what you need is exactly what they make the demo like then it’s a good product, nevertheless I’m frustrated that even simple things that take no more than a line of code their suggestion is to hire a developer. Good design but terrible support.

I had a problem with tickets form but fuelthemes staff contacted me directly. My frontend visualization was corrupted after upgrading Werkstatt theme, WP bakery builder, and WordPress, and customer support helped me to solve the damage as fast as possible. I’m very happy about my purchase and I love Werkstatt theme design and customization!

Fuel Themes makes the best and cleanest themes I know. I like the simplicity of using their themes. Very neat, not bloated, easy to use, and most of all, super classy and timeless. On top of that, they have great customer support. Will buy themes again and again.

Werkstatt customer support is excellent. I had a lot of request to customize the theme to my needs and had just positive responses from the team. I’m still looking forward for next update with enhanced video capabilities which is apparently on its way!

I’ve bought over 10 themes from theme forest and this is by far the best. It’s fast, pretty customisable and looks great. One feature I would seriously recommend adding. Having the ability to host the video background from an external source. Self-hosting videos is noticeably slower.
The theme has a FOUC (flash of unstyled content) when switching between pages and acts funky at odd times. This is a good theme, but the decision by Fuel to no longer offer support is a deal breaker and very disappointing. The support is practically non-existent. If WordPress updates or if your host forces you to update php for security reasons, then your site will crash, and you won’t be able to use this theme and the bundled js_composer plugin. They can’t even give a date when they will update the plugin. Generally, you can’t launch a very performant site with this theme out of the box because it just loads in every possible code library. When you run your site through a page speed test, you quickly realize that even though you’ve turned off audio in the theme, it still loads the audio library, and even though you’ve not created a slider, it still loads all the slider libraries. This means that your site will always get penalized by Google and others for just not running that quickly. Furthermore, the authors claim the theme is “Gutenberg compatible” but it is based around the WP Bakery requirement, and you can’t actually build pages with the WordPress block editor. Overall, pretty disappointing, though it is certainly “feature rich.”
