It does what it does very well. But if you need to customize anything outside of colors, you will find it very frustrating. For example, there is no way to remove the border radius that is prevalent on everything. Something so simple yet it’s hardcoded in the stylesheet.
We use this for a children’s all age website. Users can post but there is no spam prevention. There is no way to filter spam or people who can come and post pornography or any illegal content. It is irresponsible of you to not provide a solution. The easiest would be to make all posts be “Pending” like WordPress does by default. And then we can approve the posts. And a “Report” button that notifies the admin. I feel very abandoned by you not providing a solution for this problem. Please, be responsible and take action and provide a solution as soon as possible.
The customer support did reach out to me and is helping me with resolving the issues I have been having with the template. Please keep up the great work.

Excellent design hands down! Very beautiful theme and worth every penny. All plugins needed are 100% free and support is always there to help. They quickly answered a question I had and helped me figure out what I was doing wrong. If you can’t find your answers in the documentation, they also provide video docs that are incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend this to anyone needing a community theme regardless of size.
Vikinger is surprisingly fast behind the clean and optimized code which makes customizing your site an absolute breeze. Support is quick, responsive, and open to suggestions as well as willingly diving into solving your problems directly. I personally have never experienced any bugs, although I know they have existed as per their very detailed changelog. Contrary to what others may say, I find this theme to be far more flexible than anticipated, generally only requiring CSS edits. The documentation is perfectly suitable in helping everyone get started with the added FAQs there to answer your most likely questions. I can’t wait to see what Odin Designs has in store with future releases of Vikinger as well as future WordPress themes. I am definitely buying from Odin in the foreseeable future. This theme rates 5-stars across all sections of quality development.

The documentation is good, the theme is good but the support is awesome. I had an issue and it was fixed asap. I was waiting for a reply in order for me to take the necessary steps but they took initiative and fixed it themselves, and provided me with the solution. This theme is just perfect. From the development (modern, beautiful and responsive) to the support that is the best I have experienced in theme forest. They helped me so much that I know for sure in any other similar theme, it would have entered as a “customizing request” and would have asked me for extra money. Odin did not. They just simply help, solve and respond.
This is an awesome theme. Really cool, functional, and with exceptional support. They always found a solution to any problem. I love that there are new features all the time. At the moment, it is already my favorite theme!
Its design speaks for itself, it is also really fast and not laggy or bulky like other themes (even on shared hosting) and the BuddyPress features also set this theme apart. Vikinger keeps getting better and better with new features that get rid of the “WordPressy” feel of your site and make your site feel like a proper social network. They also include simple but needed things such as when a user admin deletes a photo, it also deletes it from the server to stop your server from getting clogged up by unused or bad content over time. They also listen to their customer suggestions to improve the theme. For example, I suggested rounded avatars and a couple of updates later they were added!

The incredible part of this theme is how the term and concept of “gamification” is applied to it. The theme is so beautiful and has a lot of potential. I’ve bought from Odin_Design before and have had great products from them. I got Vikinger as HTML and I just bought Vikinger as WordPress. I won’t have time to use it for a few weeks, but that’s ok, as I know the work will be top quality and a quick read through the documentation tells me that this will be the same great quality as always.

I own and have tried all of the most popular WordPress community themes on Envato, and Vikinger is easily the most complete one I’ve ever used. The theme still lacks in some areas, such as customizability and I hope changes come in that regard, such as changing from hexagon avatars to circles or squares, and small tweak settings – but the design and ease of use more than make up for those sorts of improvements that I have no doubt they’ll add in the future. It is truly amazing that they have such a well integrated theme in such a short amount of time – and on the lower end of the price scale. Bravo.

When I found out that Odin_Design created this awesome community theme, this was simply unbelievable. Everything about the theme is just perfect, quality is top notch, customer service is A+, not a single bug was found. Request feature: One thing I would really love for this theme to add is a “shoutbox” feature where users can join into the shoutbox at any time.
Just want to say thank you for your hard work putting this theme together. No other theme out there I’ve seen is so complex and interesting with so many admin/user options to choose from.
It doesn’t support a lot of plugins, and support documentation is very thin.
I really like the theme; I can’t really find anything to complain about. The customizability of this theme is great (changing colors, etc.). Tons of features and has been friendly and fast.
Brilliant theme, as well as brilliant support. Although it is not compatible with plugins that would normally work on other BuddyPress themes, this is due to the theme being way better than other BuddyPress themes as well as being built using React. This has actually led to us having more fun with our developer because we are building plugins from scratch, so it can be built around the theme as well as how you want it. In the end, it makes your website different from just a normal BuddyPress website.

The theme is nice, but the big problem is the customization, which is greatly blocked. Plugin support is very limited without a lot of customization. Even basic community plugins like a report function for user/posts are missing. Furthermore, there are even some core BuddyPress functions that are still not supported (e.g., hidden groups). At the moment we can’t use it at all because of those missing functions/integrations.
It’s a really nice, good quality theme and for most people this will do pretty much what they need. However, developers be aware that there are practically no hooks available to do any real customization. You have to copy template files to the child theme and compile the React app to make significant changes. This makes updating the theme later very difficult. I have requested filters and actions to be added but only told they will take it into account for future updates. Without the hooks, you can’t customize the news feed; for example, every member sees every other member’s posts.
Overall the theme is beautiful and the support is great!
I love this theme, but the documentation videos are outdated, of poor quality, and don’t have a voice explaining what they are doing. This is a problem for me as I have a minimal budget, and I have had to hire someone to install the theme and complete the landing page video. I will probably have to hire another Fiverr gig to get it done. Please improve the quality of your documentation videos!
In short: Just buy it. So worth it. Well documented, set up is a breeze. One of my biggest things is documentation. I find myself simply ctrl+f a keyword to search and go through the pages of documents to find the answer, which is almost always there. I hope you keep developing this theme for a long time, 10000% worth it.

It’s too limiting. I just wanted to tweak some simple stuff, but it turns out you can’t, and the devs aren’t helping out. I’m not asking for much, just wanted the template to do its thing as a ‘social community’ site. But the devs didn’t do a great job, so it’s pretty much useless as a social network. Also, they’re not nice about it. Instead of helping, they make it seem like you’re the problem. Really rude. Don’t buy it! It’s a beautiful template, but useless!
Please update it, since BBPress update it broke the website. Same for demo import.
Buddypress BEST Theme for me!!! Goooood design quality and so many features. This theme make interesting imagination and idea for me.
It looks amazing and is packed full of features as you will see in the demo BUT there is almost zero customizability. It doesn’t really work with other plugins and is super-hard to edit in terms of code as it is layers-upon-layers. If all you want is what you see in the demo then this is great. I couldn’t end up using the theme as it needed changes to get to where I wanted which just wasn’t possible. I would recommend this if you aren’t going to change it but then that’s not very WordPress’y.
Through customer support, I could have my questions answered, and report bugs that were fixed right away. Design Quality, Feature Availability, Documentation, not to mention the Code itself, it’s so beautiful! I’m very happy with my purchase, and I just wish I could make all the third-party plugins I use have the same code structure for better customization. I hope you keep adding support to more plugins in the future!
Apart from a few issues that I don’t think should be in a final product such as word-break on newsfeed, padding on the headers and limited options for the login/registration. It says you can customize the login and registration page but there’s only options for Login page unless you dig into the theme files. Also, some issues are harder to fix due to how the theme was built. Other than that, it’s a great theme and I hope these issues are addressed in the future.
I purchased multiple WordPress themes and plugins back in the day, for different projects. I can tell that this is by far the best one in terms of Quality and Features. The badges, credits, quests, and ranks system are amazing! Not to mention that there are no bugs. My website has been live for almost a week now and I haven’t seen any bugs. There is still room for improvement though. I think adding a widget space at the bottom of the forum would be nice, that way we can see who’s online in the forum. Also, adding a normal text editor in the forum would be an upgrade as not everyone knows HTML. Adding a reaction system in the forum would also be nice, so people can like forum posts and stuff.
